Author: T. Bull

When on vacation, we all wish to cut apart and relax to overlook about our demanding lives and this is a acceptable thing. Not alone is this a acceptable affair for you but it’s a acceptable affair for anyone searching to yield advantage of you and possibly abate you of, Frogger Game, your valuables.

As a traveler, whether you are traveling to Disney Apple or Thailand, you charge to be acquainted of your surroundings. Whatever day-tripper destination you acquisition yourself in you can bet there are humans cat-and-mouse there who accomplish it their job to yield advantage of you in your airy state. Don’t yield for accepted the aegis of resorts.

As with any cruise to any destination in the apple you charge to be acquainted of your surroundings, abnormally in day-tripper areas area you may be casualty to an acid element. I covered the basics in 5 rules of not getting a brainless tourist. In Thailand the absolute dangers may not be what you expect. Thailand, as any added abode in the world, has it’s fair allotment of abomination and betray artists. While you are watching out for your backing and claimed assurance it’s appealing simple to abstain assertive aspects of your cruise that you ability yield for accepted aback home. Taking these aspects of your cruise for accepted could actual able-bodied advance to an abortive death.

Crossing streets, awash clubs, and alley accidents yield added lives annually in Thailand than any added action including crime. Just in a few canicule endure year there were over 226 alley fatalities throughout Thailand and one club blaze at Santika Pub that has larboard 86 humans ailing and 59 humans dead. Of the 59 deaths at the club 21 were foreigners.

Nightclubs are the aboriginal section of this acquaintance trifecta. Some clubs can be absolutely ample and backpack the humans in, if that’s your affair again you should absolutely yield a airing about the club and analysis it out. Accomplish abiding you apperceive area the exits are and if accessible accomplish abiding they aren’t locked. Endure year a club in Pattaya bent blaze just afore aperture consistent in a fair amount of agents dying. The blaze align bent it to be an electrical blaze and begin chains bound on the accessory exits to accumulate humans from entering for free. This New Years Eve saw a blaze at the Santika Pub acquired by fireworks lit off central as allotment of the anniversary that hit the cream acoustical analysis on the ceiling.

Small clubs deserve just as abundant acquaintance as they are usually aphotic and exits hidden. A lot of the fires that do appear in Thailand are electrical. The electrical in a lot of of these places is abominable at best, bent at worst. Club fires aren’t a circadian blow in Thailand but they do happen, and if they appear there are usually deaths involved. Go to the clubs and accept a abundant time if that’s what you’re about. Just be safe and ambit out the places you acquisition yourself in, it may just save you.

Driving in Thailand

As with any added biking destination in the apple you can hire cars, trucks and motorcycles in Thailand. The best tip I can accord you is DON’T. Everyone I accept anytime met in Thailand from expat to the two anniversary vacationer that has apprenticed in Thailand has been in an accident. It’s not a amount of if you will be complex in an accident, but when.

Some accept been accessory scrapes but others accept appropriate anaplasty and continued hospital stays. Endure year a Thai woman on her way home from plan one night in Pattaya benumbed her motorcycle fell into a pit in the alley that was 6 anxiety abysmal and 4 anxiety wide. The architect alive on the alley didn’t anticipate a barricade was necessary.

Sometimes accidents are accompanying to bad alley altitude but added generally than not alley accidents in Thailand, from rural areas to the big cities, can be chalked up to bad driving. Motorcycles braid in and out of cartage as fast as they can and cars avert their amplitude with a passion. My additional cruise to Thailand I saw two motorcycle accidents in one night. The aboriginal blow a motorcycle auto cut in foreground of a baht apprehension that absitively to drive appropriate over him. The additional blow a motorcycle comatose into the rear of a Mercedes at top speed. My endure cruise if I was advancing aback from Mukdahan to the bus base in Pattaya we anesthetized a motorcycle broken to pieces in the alley with an accessible asleep addition 100 anxiety away.

One auto ride from the airport to Pattaya my disciplinarian could not adjudge which lane he capital to drive in so he absitively to breach the aberration and drive amid lanes and cars for a bisected a mile or so. I anticipate the falang agreeable in the aback of his auto debilitated him so he stopped.

Traffic is so bad in Bangkok that it’s not abnormal to see a motorcycle auto jump the barrier and yield to the sidewalk. Active is added of a action in Thailand and a claret action at that. The bad Asian disciplinarian may be a cliche average but if it comes to Thai drivers there’s added accuracy than fiction to that sentiment.

If that doesn’t accord you abeyance to amend active while in the Kingdom again accede the the afterward two articles:

In 1999 a abstraction was done by G D Jacobs and Amy Aeron-Thomas alleged A REVIEW OF GLOBAL ROAD ACCIDENT FATALITIES. It bankrupt down alley accompanying fatalities by arena with Asia absolute a abounding 44% of all alley fatalities apple wide. It should appear as no abruptness again that Thailand has been the baton in alley accidents apple advanced for some time. In 2004 it was estimated that Thailand had an blow amount of 6.6 accidents per 10,000 drivers, in allegory all of Europe was at alone 1.8 accidents per 10,000 drivers.

Pichai TANEERANANON and Opas SOMCHAINUEK did a abstraction on bus crashes in Thailand alleged BUS CRASH SITUATION IN THAILAND: CASE STUDIES. The arduous amount of bus crashes and fatalities annual in Thailand is staggering.

If you just accept to drive in Thailand again accomplish abiding you accept an all-embracing drivers authorization or a Thai drivers authorization and insurance. If you are complex in an blow a lot of acceptable you’ll be apparent as the getting at accountability and even if you are not there will be fines to pay.

Public busline is the the another and for the a lot of allotment will be fine. I’ve been on motorcycle taxi’s, taken bout buses up country and acclimated taxis. I haven’t had a botheration yet but I apperceive the allowance are adjoin me. With drivers alive sometimes 12 -16 hour canicule it’s harder to apperceive what affectionate of ride you will get. As Elvis Costello would say “Accidents will happen” but if you, Frogger Game, accumulate your experience about you and break acquainted of your ambience again there’s a acceptable adventitious you can abstain getting in one.

Walking on Thailand’s Streets

I’ve been out walking the streets of Bangkok by myself at four in the morning and never already feared for my claimed safety, although I was actual acquainted of my surroundings. I can’t say the aforementioned for bridge streets in Thailand. Pedestrians are appealing abundant apparent as targets and pedestrians in crosswalks are the bullseye.

Trust me drivers will not apathetic down for you bridge the road, if annihilation they’ll just bellow the horn to admonish you of your approaching annihilation if you should trip. Add in bad lighting, booze or both on either ancillary of this blueprint and you accept a compound for disaster.

While Bangkok has abounding banal bridges the aforementioned can’t be said of added accepted destinations such as Pattaya area 2cnd alley plays out abundant like the old video bold frogger. 2cnd alley in Pattaya as able-bodied as bank alley accept a actual continued amplitude after any cartage signals and at night the lighting is coarse at best in some places.

A abstraction of banal accidents was done in Kohn Kaen arena which has a citizenry of 150,000 in 2002. As allotment of the abstraction they aggregate advice on banal complex accidents amid the years 1998-2000. In 2000 there were over 4400 pedestrians afflicted or dead on Thailand anchorage with an estimated 65,000 cartage accompanying injuries and deaths. A Abstraction On Accidents and Investigation of Pedestrian’s Unsafe Altitude in Kohn Kaen.

When bridge any streets in Thailand yield your time and adjudicator car distances and acceleration as best you can even streets with low traffic, because by the time they hit you it’s too backward and from some accidents I’ve apparent there ability not be abundant larboard to identify.

As always, no amount area you are in the apple accomplish abiding you are acquainted of your ambience and be in ascendancy of yourself at all times and you should be just fine.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, I finally set out to discover the world in 2006. South East Asia has always been a beacon for me and Thailand it’s crowned jewel.

I write about my experiences in Thailand as well as the cultural aspects of being a foreigner in a foreign land. My blog Thailand, Land of smiles is full of stories and thousands of photos from my journeys throughout Thailand. I blog about Thailand Daily at http://thailandlandofsmiles.com.

Author: Nancy Huang
Source: free-articles

Ah, the start of another year! In a groggy haze on New Years Eve, I promised someone (or was it myself?) that I would be good this year. I said I would draw up my New Year’s Resolutions โ€” particularly after the roller-coaster year I had last year. Well, a promise is a promise. I can’t very well start the New Year by breaking the resolution that I was going to write my New Year’s Resolutions, can I? So, here it is, broken down into months being the control freak that I am.

JAN โ€” Donate old PC to a Deserving Relative

After all, to give is more rewarding than to receive (but not quite as rewarding as to buy). So I guess it’s au revoir to my X86 sitting in the corner of my study. Now, who should I give it to? Who will appreciate my very first, very own PC? My 91 year-old Gran so she can learn to type? Or my 5 year-old niece so she, too, can fall in love with Frogger and Pacman I grew up with instead of playing with her PlayStation 2?

FEB โ€” Start RDO (Rostered Day Out)

Negotiate with The Boss to work (offline, of course) in the park one day a month. I want to feel the breeze in my hair, the green grass underfoot and the occasional bird droppings on my head. I want to feel free as I prepare my daily status report. I want to pretend I’m unshackled even if the price I have to pay is grass stains on my suit. Just for once, I want to live like the lucky b!@#$%^s on those TV ads.

MARCH โ€” Test Drive a Hot Spot

I can be savvy. I can be cool. Just because I don’t have the latest 3G video bluetooth- enabled combined PDA/Phone (yet) doesn’t make me a techno geek. I am techno sleek! In the month of March, I shall borrow The Boss’s Centrino laptop and test drive a Hot Spot. I shall, Frogger Game, sit at the cafรฉ downstairs from work, sip coffee, pick at my friand and surf the net to check my share portfolio performance (yeah, as if). This will be the ultimate testament that I have lived โ€” no, that I am really living – because I can work without being bound to power cables. I can say to the rest of the world, I have a WiFi lifestyle.

APRIL โ€” Turn Multimedia PC into Karaoke Machine

In April, I shall make real use of my all-in-one multimedia PC. I won’t be content just using it to tape shows from TV, watch DVD with 7.1 channel output and play all my shoot โ€˜em up games. I will go one step further. I will transform it into a karaoke machineโ€ฆin time for Australian Idol II. It used to life be in it. Now, it’s singing be in it. I even have proof. The Google 2003 Year-End Zeitgeist showed that Australian Idol was the most popular internet query in Australia (www.google.com/press/zeitgeist.html). See, I’ve right there with the in-crowd. I contributed to the incredible stats. Go, Cosima! You go, girl!

MAY โ€” Clean Up Electronic Files From Network/CD/Floppies

Yes, like Autumn pruning, this housekeeping task is boring but necessary. Also, I can’t afford to wait until Spring to commence the electronic file Spring Clean. At the rate I’m archiving, triple backing up and ghosting my files, I’ll accumulate another filing cabinet full of CDs between Autumn and Springโ€ฆon top of the three cabinet fulls I already have. Maybe I’ll get a 200 GB external hard diskโ€ฆ

JUNE โ€” Stop End of Financial Year Madness

Oh, how I’d love to hate Juneโ€ฆbut all those end-of-financial year bargains! โ€œBuy something now for a final chance to claim tax deductions this year!โ€ I can already see the advertisement headlines. This June, I will not succumb to temptation and buy/upgrade a mobile phone, PDA, laptop or digital camcorder. Must tell self: โ€œcontrary to self-imposed belief, I will not spontaneously combust from a mild dose of STAS (Sensible Technology Adoption Syndrome)โ€. I will sponsor a World Vision child instead. At $35 a month or $420 a year, it’s cheaper than a new PDA, laptop or camcorder. And tax-deductible too!

JULY โ€” Expand My Horizonsโ€ฆOutdoors

There’s no reason to huddle myself in the house just because it’s cold. I must stop playing those video games. After all, it’s hardly healthy to pretend I am any of the following: James Bond, Lara Croft, Tony Hawke or Harry Potter. Go outdoors and enjoy the fresh, chilly air. I will ride a bike, bushwalk or hike. I will try bungy jumping, sky-diving, parasailing, absailingโ€ฆYeah, right! Who am I kidding?

AUG โ€” Take Time Out toโ€ฆOrganise Photo Album

Something tells me the extreme sports challenge from July will not take. So this month, in my winter of house-bound discontent, I shall take to organising my photo album. I still have photos from my 1998 trip to Europe in three different shoeboxes (unsorted). I suppose that’s hardly surprising since I still have the 1999 Paris (my favourite) calendar hanging in the kitchen. So this month, I shall organise and scan all my photos from the last centuryโ€ฆand take down the Paris calendar (sob, sob).

SEPT โ€” Install PC Securityโ€ฆProperly

Install the latest virus-protection, firewall, surge protection, backup software and vigilantly check for updates. I know I’ve been lucky so farโ€ฆgoodness knows I’ve committed too many โ€œinstall and ignoreโ€ sins. Better not push my luck. After all, I wouldn’t want my 23 episodes of 24 to be wiped out in one foul swoop before I’ve had the time to indulge in my round-the-clock Kiefer-Sutherland-thon!

OCT โ€” Subscribe to Something Useful

I will stop compulsively subscribing to sites offering the latest bargains. As we head into the last quarter, I need more motivational sites that give me tips, advice and quotes on how to feel better, work better and be better. I need inspiration delivered straight to my inbox (since technology still can’t deliver it directly to my head). Inspirational messages like this Walt Disney quote: โ€œIf you can dream it, you can do it.โ€ Hmm, fast-track promotion, here I come!

NOV โ€” Get Rid of Techno Junkie Addiction

As the year starts to draw to a close, I must curb my addiction to all the techno gadgetry. Last year, I failed miserably and ended up with three mobile MP3 players: a standard 128MB MP3 player, an improved model with voice recording (a feature I’ve not yet had the opportunity to use) and a 1.5GB mobile juke box (just because I need something to hold more songs to take on a planned 10 hour trip up the coastโ€ฆwhich I still haven’t booked). This year, I must do better. I heard there’s no better way to cure an addiction than taking up aโ€ฆhobby. Now, is there anything non-tech I want from eBAY?

DEC โ€” End of Year Appraisal

As with any good New Year’s resolution, we must track our progress and compare actuals, Frogger Game, to our plans. Month by month, I want to know whether I’ve kept to my word. For example, by 31 Dec 2004, I don’t want to see that X86 still sitting in the corner of my study. Wait, I seem to recall saying something about getting rid of that X86 last year, or was it the year before that, or was it 1994? Whatever. There’s always 2005.

I hope you’ve had a chance to draw up your New Year’s resolutions. All joke aside, a wise woman once told me: โ€œA goal is a dream with a deadline!โ€ So, what are you waiting for? Get out your PDA, fire up Word, plug in the camcorder and set those goals. Most of all, enjoy the 2004 roller-coaster ride!

Ah, the start of another year! In a groggy haze on New Years Eve, I promised someone (or was it myself?) that I would be good this year. I said I would draw up my New Year’s Resolutions – particularly after the roller-coaster year I had last year. Well, a promise is a promise. I can’t very well start the New Year by breaking the resolution that I was going to write my New Year’s Resolutions, can I? So, here it is, broken down into months being the control freak that I am.
JAN – Donate old PC to a Deserving Relative
After all, to give is more rewarding than to receive (but not quite as rewarding as to buy). So I guess it’s au revoir to my X86 sitting in the corner of my study. Now, who should I give it to? Who will appreciate my very first, very own PC? My 91 year-old Gran so she can learn to type? Or my 5 year-old niece so she, too, can fall in love with Frogger and Pacman I grew up with instead of playing with her PlayStation 2?
FEB – Start RDO (Rostered Day Out)
Negotiate with The Boss to work (offline, of course) in the park one day a month.
MARCH – Test Drive a Hot Spot
I can be savvy. I can be cool. Just because I don’t have the latest 3G video bluetooth- enabled combined PDA/Phone (yet) doesn’t make me a techno geek. I am techno sleek! In the month of March, I shall borrow The Boss’s Centrino laptop and test drive a Hot Spot. I shall sit at the caf้ downstairs from work, sip coffee, pick at my friand and surf the net to check my share portfolio performance (yeah, as if). This will be the ultimate testament that I have lived – no, that I am really living – because I can work without being bound to power cables. I can say to the rest of the world, I have a WiFi lifestyle.
APRIL – Turn Multimedia PC into Karaoke Machine
In April, I shall make real use of my all-in-one multimedia PC. I won’t be content just using it to tape shows from TV, watch DVD with 7.1 channel output and play all my shoot ‘em up games. I will go one step further. I will transform it into a karaoke machine…in time for Australian Idol II.
MAY – Clean Up Electronic Files From Network/CD/Floppies
Yes, like Autumn pruning, this housekeeping task is boring but necessary. Also, I can’t afford to wait until Spring to commence the electronic file Spring Clean. At the rate I’m archiving, triple backing up and ghosting my files, I’ll accumulate another filing cabinet full of CDs between Autumn and Spring…on top of the three cabinet fulls I already have. Maybe I’ll get a 200 GB external hard disk
JUNE – Stop End of Financial Year Madness
Oh, how I’d love to hate June…but all those end-of-financial year bargains! “Buy something now for a final chance to claim tax deductions this year!” I can already see the advertisement headlines. This June, I will not succumb to temptation and buy/upgrade a mobile phone, PDA, laptop or digital camcorder. Must tell self: “contrary to self-imposed belief, I will not spontaneously combust from a mild dose of STAS (Sensible Technology Adoption Syndrome)”. I will sponsor a World Vision child instead. At $35 a month or $420 a year, it’s cheaper than a new PDA, laptop or camcorder. And tax-deductible too!
JULY – Expand My Horizons…Outdoors
There’s no reason to huddle myself in the house just because it’s cold. I must stop playing those video games. After all, it’s hardly healthy to pretend I am any of the following: James Bond, Lara Croft, Tony Hawke or Harry Potter. Go outdoors and enjoy the fresh, chilly air. I will ride a bike, bushwalk or hike. I will try bungy jumping, sky-diving, parasailing, absailing…Yeah, right! Who am I kidding?
AUG – Take Time Out to…Organise Photo Album
Something tells me the extreme sports challenge from July will not take. So this month, in my winter of house-bound discontent, I shall take to organising my photo album. I still have photos from my 1998 trip to Europe in three different shoeboxes (unsorted). I suppose that’s hardly surprising since I still have the 1999 Paris (my favourite) calendar hanging in the kitchen. So this month, I shall organise and scan all my photos from the last century…and take down the Paris calendar (sob, sob).
SEPT – Install PC Security…Properly
Install the latest virus-protection, firewall, surge protection, backup software and vigilantly check for updates. I know I’ve been lucky so far…goodness knows I’ve committed too many “install and ignore” sins. Better not push my luck. After all, I wouldn’t want my 23 episodes of 24 to be wiped out in one foul swoop before I’ve had the time to indulge in my round-the-clock Kiefer-Sutherland-thon!
OCT – Subscribe to Something Useful
I will stop compulsively subscribing to sites offering the latest bargains. As we head into the last quarter, I need more motivational sites that give me tips, advice and quotes on how to feel better, work better and be better. I need inspiration delivered straight to my inbox (since technology still can’t deliver it directly to my head). Inspirational messages like this Walt Disney quote: “If you can dream it, you can do it.” Hmm, fast-track promotion, here I come!
NOV – Get Rid of Techno Junkie Addiction
As the year starts to draw to a close, I must curb my addiction to all the techno gadgetry. Last year, I failed miserably and ended up with three mobile MP3 players: a standard 128MB MP3 player, an improved model with voice recording (a feature I’ve not yet had the opportunity to use) and a 1.5GB mobile juke box (just because I need something to hold more songs to take on a planned 10 hour trip up the coast…which I still haven’t booked). This year, I must do better. I heard there’s no better way to cure an addiction than taking up a…hobby. Now, is there anything non-tech I want from eBAY?
DEC – End of Year Appraisal
As with any good New Year’s resolution, we must track our progress and compare actuals to our plans. Month by month, I want to know whether I’ve kept to my word. For example, by 31 Dec 2004, I don’t want to see that X86 still sitting in the corner of my study. Wait, I seem to recall saying something about getting rid of that X86 last year, or was it the year before that, or was, Frogger Game, it 1994? Whatever. There’s, Frogger Game, always 2005.
I hope you’ve had a chance to draw up your New Year’s resolutions. All joke aside, a wise woman once told me: “A goal is a dream with a deadline!” So, what are you waiting for? Get out your PDA, fire up Word, plug in the camcorder and set those goals. Most of all, enjoy the 2004 roller-coaster ride!

Echoes for PSP is a new arcade game released by Halfbrick, and rated E for Everyone. Welcome to Charlie’s world, a girl that got sucked into another dimension while studying art. Players must help Charlie collect gems and stones to get to the next level and ultimately return to her world. Each level becomes more surreal and bizarre as the player moves up. The Echoes also become more deadly, Frogger Game, and numerous as the game progresses.

The graphics on this game are nothing new, and fairly basic. As players follow Charlie though this strange new world, they see the top of her hat, which can only be assumed as a broad billed, straw hat. Mazes are outlined in various shapes and complexities, with gems and stone clearly highlighted, Frogger Game, . This game is not highly interactive with itself, and appears to be more of a complex game of chase.

The Echoes in the game are really the player’s movements repeated though the level. Echoes are spawned off of the paths previously taken to follow the player through the level. Since paths cross often in the mazes that outline the levels, the Echoes have plenty of opportunity to bump into Charlie. The higher the level, the more Echoes appear and the faster they travel.

While Echoes may not be as complex as some games on the market and the graphics are somewhat limited, it does have its place. This is a great game for anyone looking for a bit of fun without graphic violence. While Charlie may “die” when touched by an Echo, there is no blood, no fighting, and defiantly no gross scenes. It is not overly intellectually challenging either, since the goal is to follow the maze, collect the gems, and avoid Echoes, so younger video game fans should have no problem figuring the game out and playing contentedly.

For those who remember the golden age of arcade games, Echoes is reminiscent of Pac Man and Frogger. Fans of these games will love Echoes, while the rest of the players out there will probably avoid this game in search of better graphics and more interactivity.

Author: Jeremy Tuber
Source: download

My friend Craig bought an X-Box 360 last month. For those not familiar with what an X-Box is, it’s a video game console. Most of us old enough to remember, would compare it to a suped-up Atari. Well, if Atari were a Pinto, the X-Box 360 would be the Porsche. But this article isn’t about mind-numbing video games, in fact, if you’re a business owner looking for a competitive edge, you going to want to read this. You’re about to be educated by a video game console.

Video games have come a long way, in fact light years since I played them back in the 70′s and 80′s, and so has the amount of aggressive, intuitive marketing behind this multi-billion dollar industry.

Sure the graphics and the action has gotten better with these little arcades in a box, but what the video game companies have done in terms of marketing is unbelievably impressive. In fact, everything, Frogger Game, about this X-Box 360 is about marketing to kids. Take for example when you open the box, you receive offers for video game magazines, free video game demos, online music clubs and any other thing you can imagine a kid would be interested in. In exchange for discounts on products/services, the marketing companies ask the buyers to provide them with some information, this information will be used to help market other targeted products and services to the kids. Instead of throwing money into billboard hoping that by some random chance a buyer that has the money, and is looking to buy at that time – these guys are targeting what are called “warm leads” who are very likely to be in the market for their products and services. Pretty smart, huh?

But the marketing doesn’t stop there; the video game console’s set up is down right ingenious. Gone are the days where you just plunked a game cartridge in the Atari and just started playing. The X-Box 360 has a complete, extensive dashboard console, which allows kids to try and buy games on line with just a couple of button presses.

Think about this for a second! How many customers could you attract if by just pressing a couple of buttons on a remote control could order your products and services? Have you ever noticed that marketers are always talking about how fast, easy and convenient it is to buy and work with them? This isn’t by accident – smart businesses know that the harder it is to buy and work with them, the less sales they’ll have (* I know there are exceptions).

Are you still not convinced? Check out the full array of what the X-Box 360 allows it’s customers to do, think about this in terms of your business – how can your business capitalize on these ideas:

*
Preview new games coming soon to stores. Yes, the video game industry now has movie trailers for video games.

*
Spend credits to buy games instead of cash, or credit card. The parents can of course purchase credits, almost like an allowance for kids. The kids can then buy virtually whatever they want, whenever they want it.

* Download vintage video games at a fraction of the price. For those of us old enough to remember Atari, you can download all of your favorites: Frogger, Pac Man, Joust and more. The cost for the games is about $5. This is an impulse buy for people that can be done in a matter of 2-3 button presses. Imagine if just 50,000 people purchase just one game, that’s $250,000 of revenue for a video game back in the 80′s!!!

Bottom Line for Sharp Business Owners:

Video games may still be an unproductive way to waste a Saturday, but the marketing behind these brain cell killers has gone high-tech, and could teach us all something. These are really marketing cash machines in a cleverly packaged box. From permission/infusion marketing to cross promotion, targeting warm leads and the ease at which customers can buy products – the video game industry has marketing figured out.

In your own business, how can you capitalize on what you’ve read here?

* How can you make it easier to buy from your company?

*
Are there warm leads out there that would be more effective to target than people off the street? How can you target these people?

*
How could you take advantage of permission marketing by providing customers value in exchange for providing you with valuable information and permission to market to them?

*
What products/services could you cross promote that your customers would, Frogger Game, probably be interested in? What businesses could you form a strategic alliance with in order to provide more and better products/services to your mutual customers?

If you’d like to learn more about many of the concepts covered in this article, I would be happy to talk to you about your company’s specific situation, and I highly recommend picking up a copy of Seth Godin’s, “Permission Marketing”.

Frog tattoos may seem an odd choice for a design, but there are probably some things about frogs that, Frogger Game, may surprise you. When you consider their popularity in our society today plus the meanings of frogs in many different cultures, you will see why frog tattoos may not be so odd after all.

Frogs are amphibians that have long hind legs, a short body, webbed fingers and toes, protruding eyes and no tail.
If you are considering a frog tattoo, you will have a huge variety of design options to choose from. Since there are so many different colored species of frogs, this allows you to have a very distinctive and vibrant tattoo.
More than 100 developers have lined up to provide software for Nintendo DS. With all of that software in different stages of development, Nintendo offers an impressive array of games, tech demos and videos to showcase how this hand-held wonder will revolutionize how people play games. From the touch screen to wireless capabilities, the functions on display represent just a few of the many ways that Nintendo DS will write the future of video games. Game information is subject to change.

Some of the games announced which are in production are listed inside!

E3 2004 Nintendo Software

The following games are in development, and offer a glimpse into the future that Nintendo DS will build. Each game represents just a fraction of the new ways to play. Many other games, besides those shown on the E3 show floor, also are under development for Nintendo DS.

Metroid Prime ยฎ : Hunters: This amazing first-person battle game uses wireless technology to connect up to four players simultaneously (in the E3 demo version). Each player gets a Metroid ยฎ suit of a different color, and then tries to destroy the three opponents. Touch the stylus to the bottom screen to rotate the camera, aim and fire, or to transform into a Morph Ball. The game features the same artwork, sound, graphics, architecture and ambience found in the huge hit Metroid ยฎ Prime.

Super Mario 64×4: The landscape and the characters all look familiar. This is the opening castle area of Super Mario 64 TM , only with a few DS twists thrown in. Up to four players can link up using the wireless capabilities. Players move familiar characters like Mario TM , Luigi, Yoshi ยฎ and Wario TM around the 3-D landscape, exploring and looking, Frogger Game, for stars. While one screen shows the player’s character position, the other provides an overall map of the area. Touch a spot on the screen to pop the camera over to another player’s position, or to take a close-up look at the castle.

PictoChat: Up to 16 players (two in the E3 demo version) can use the wireless functions to link together and exchange instant messages or drawings. The bottom screen shows a standard keyboard, while instant messages from other users appear in the top screen. Players can type text messages using the keyboard, use the stylus to send messages in their own handwriting or simply draw and transmit a picture. If another user sends a picture, the recipient can modify it and send it back. Play a game of wireless virtual hangman or send covert messages to other users.

WarioWare, Inc. DS: One screen isn’t big enough to contain Wario’s greed and ego. He appears on the top screen and drops boxes to the bottom one, where they open an assortment of wild mini-games. Use the stylus and touch screen to drag a net and catch some fish, or to cut a rope to drop a cage around a duck. Players might have to erase or draw pictures, or slice at food that gets thrown at them. Finish as many mini-games in 35 seconds as possible. The game features the same good humor and fast pace that are hallmarks, Frogger Game, of the WarioWare franchise.

E3 2004 Nintendo Tech Demos

Think of tech demos as a glimpse into what the future might hold. These short examples allow players to interact with their games in ways they never have before. Whether the touch-screen control helps navigate a submarine through treacherous waters or turns the Nintendo DS into a beat box, players get an inkling of what is possible. Nintendo is exhibiting software at E3 that makes use of the stylus and touch screen, just to show how easily and naturally DS games can be played. Players can enjoy them to their hearts’ content.

Balloon Trip: A stork drops Baby Mario, and he falls through the sky. A touch of the screen creates clouds that maneuver him toward gold coins and away from enemies. This demonstrates how game designers could make games that let players create their own environments. Design a house for virtual characters. Or put obstacles in the way of opponents in a multiplayer game.

Carving: Pick a block of wood, steel or even a watermelon to spin on the lathe and carve away. Listen as the enhanced sound reacts to the different surfaces. Use the fine-point stylus for precision cuts, then rotate the object and see what is created. Imagine using tools like this to dig for treasure or make custom pieces for a virtual chessboard.

Mario’s Face: Grab hold of Mario’s nose and give it a stretch. Distort his ears, or steal Wario’s cap. Rotate the head or tap a button to switch it from cartoon shading to regular 3-D. Image manipulation like this has never been possible in hand-held games. Future games could employ pliable tools or characters, or let users customize characters to their own likenesses.

DS Pikachu: This gorgeous demo highlights the versatility of Nintendo DS by showcasing brilliant colors and switching the true 3-D view from screen to screen. Players use the stylus and touch screen intuitively to interact with Pikachu in a variety of different activities. Players can touch and pull Pikachu’s cheek directly, draw Pikachu posed or rub to shave off a scratch card.

Special Effects: This demo has three parts. In the first, press and slide the different dots to create trails of water, smoke, fire or any number of effects. In the second, transform the Nintendo DS into a beat box. Each square on the screen creates a different sound, while launching new fireworks-like effects on the other screen. Mix and match to get the right combo of light and sound. In the third part, sliding the boxes around one screen changes the wild geometric image on the other. These effects can all be applied to games in a virtually infinite number of ways.

Submarine: One screen shows the position of a sub in the water, while the other puts players at the helm. Tap and slide the controls to dive, pitch, and increase speed or fire torpedoes. Avoid depth charges, enemy subs and underwater boulders that block the sub from completing its mission. This demo clearly illustrates how the dual screens work together to give players views of the action they have never had before. Now just think how this two-perspective technology could enhance sports games, first-person shooters, racing games and more.

Table Hockey: The game is simple: Just hit the puck into the opponent’s goal. But notice how the puck reacts, depending on whether the stylus slides it quickly or slowly in different directions. And think about the wireless capabilities for games like this.

E3 2004 Video Demos

Nintendo has many games in development for Nintendo DS, including the following, which will be shown only on video at E3:

Mario Kart TM DS

Animal Crossing TM DS

NEW Super Mario Bros. ยฎ

Nintendogs

E3 2004 Third-Party Publisher Demos

The following represent a sampling of initial projects by third parties on display at E3:

(Bandai Co., Ltd.) MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED: The game starts with the top screen showing a view of outer space. On the bottom screen, players choose one of three giant flying robots to battle the enemy. The game then switches to show a radarscope up top and the battle on the bottom. Use a tap of the stylus to lock onto the enemy circles. Once all three are locked, players select a weapon to destroy them. The game then transforms into a series of stylized anime movie clips as the robot fires at the enemies.

(Hudson Soft Co., Ltd.) BOMBERMAN: Classic Bomberman action comes to DS, now with quick and easy touch-screen control using the stylus. The game starts with the player vigorously rubbing the screen to compete for power-ups. In the battle round, the player maneuvers around a maze while competing in frantic Bomberman competition, trying to bomb others while avoiding incoming attacks. If a ghost appears in the upper screen and haunts the player, the player cannot move until the ghost has been scratched off using the touch screen.

(Konami Corporation) Yu-Gi-Oh! TM : Nightmare Troubadour: Players tap the screen to deal, draw and flip cards. The top screen plays out the action in full 3-D. Summon monsters and enter classic Yu-Gi-Oh! battles as players try to keep their life points from fading away. The game offers a “detail” feature that lets players zoom in and get more info about their cards. It’s classic Yu-Gi-Oh! fun for fans of the game.

(Namco Limited) Pac-Pix: Draw Pac-Man to eat up the Ghosts on the screen. Pac-Man moves in whatever direction he is facing, but players can use the stylus and touch screen to change his direction. Draw a wall in front of Pac-Man and he will turn 90 degrees.

(Namco Limited) Pac’n Roll: Pac-Man comes alive in a full 3-D environment filled with Pac-Dots and Ghosts. Use the touch screen to maneuver him up ramps and around walls, while being careful not to fall into gullies. The faster players move their fingers across the screen, the faster Pac-Man moves.

(Sega Corporation) Sonic E3 Demo: A two-part game that starts with a demo of Sonic. Players can tap the bottom screen to switch between different camera angles as Sonic zips through one of his vibrantly colored classic environments. In the second part of the game, users run their fingers back and forth on the touch screen to make Sonic run faster and faster as he collects coins. Rubbing the top of the touch screen makes Sonic jump to get coins from up high.

(Square Enix Co., Ltd.) Egg Monster Heroes: In the first segment, players control a general and his troops. Flip them from behind to make them charge the opponents. Next, players enter into the “Egg Monster Battle,” where players can touch their monsters’ bodies to choose an attack method while aiming at opposing monsters’ weak parks.

Additional Third-Party Publisher Software

In addition to the games listed above, software companies from around the world are developing titles for Nintendo DS. Below is a sampling of what is to come:

(Activision): Spider-Man TM 2

(Atari): title TBD

(Bandai Co., Ltd.): ONE PIECE, along with several other titles in development

(Banpresto Co., Ltd.): DRAGONBALL Z

Author: Tim K Jackson
Source: ezinearticles.com

Frogger is considered one of the most popular and influential games of the Golden Age of Arcade games. Along with Pacman, Qbert, and Asteroids, the game could be found in just about any arcade across the nation. Today it is considered a classic and has spawned more than a dozen sequels.

Frogger was released in 1981 and was distributed by Sega/Gremlin. The game was developed by the Japanese company Konami and it was their first big hit. Nearly three decades later the game is still popular with a new generation of users who thankfully don’t have to use quarters to hop.

Game Play

The early and perhaps continuing appeal of Frogger is its simplicity. There are no fancy storylines or colorful characters with hundreds of special moves, there are only frogs. These frogs, like the famous chicken, are desperately trying to cross a busy road. It is the player’s job to get each frog safely across the road without getting squashed.

The player begins the game with three, five, or seven frogs, which is how many lives he has. When the game starts, the frogs are at the bottom of the screen. To move across the busy road, the player has to get the frogs to the top of the screen and across several road lanes. As we mentioned, these lanes are busy…it must me rush hour! On them the frogs must avoid numerous vehicles that include: taxis, cars, buses, trucks, dune buggies, motorcycles, vans, and even bulldozers. These vehicles are of course moving across the screen horizontally, Frogger Game, at different speeds and in opposite directions.

Beyond the highway lanes, there is also a river that contains logs, crocodiles and turtles, again moving across the screen. If the frogs can hop from log to log or on the backs of the turtles without being eaten by a crock, Frogger Game, or falling into the water, then he will reach his home. There are five different frog homes or lily pads located at the very top of the screen. To make things even more challenging, every level is timed, so the player must reach his destination before the time elapses or he loses a life. A player can also get bonuses for catching bugs in the river or escorting a lady frog across.

How to Win?

When all five frogs reach their home and all of the lily pads are full, the game moves on to the next, more-challenging level. As you might expect, vehicles move faster on the roads and predators in the pond are quicker and more abundant.

As for the controls, there is only one way to control the frogs and that is the joystick. Each time a player moves it in one of the four directions, the frog hops once.

Where to Play Frogger today?

You could scour the arcades for a few ancient units, or you could simply play the game online. In fact, the classic version of Frogger is available on most internet game sites. Recently, Frogger has become a hit again with Smartphone users who can download the game for less than a buck and play it on their mobile devices.

Tim is officially addicted to Frogger and believes he might be one of the best players out there. You can read more and download the game for free at http://www.playfrogger.net.

The Leapfrog Leapster Learning Game system takes children’s love for movies and video games and turns them into an educational experience. The, now famous, Leapfrog company has a found a way to draw kids into their video game format, and teach them at the same time. It has a stylus and a keypad, to teach hand-eye coordination and is very interactive to reinforce valuable reading, language, and math skills. There are a few drawbacks to the Leapfrog Leapster though, like constantly having to buy the kids new games.

Learning how to use the Leapster is quite easy. Parents have even been known to get addicted to playing and enjoying the learning system. There is one pre-loaded game that most children love. It is called Rabbit River, and its based on the well known Frogger game, but its educational. There are two modes, letters and numbers. In letters the bunny must hop to floating logs to spell out a requested letter, and in numbers mode, they must hop to floating logs to form a correct equation. There is also Color Corral, which is an interactive coloring book, much like a kids Photoshop. Each game has different skill levels so kids can challenge themselves with more advanced learning problems as they understand the concept. There is an included manual that helps teach how to relate the math and art concepts to the real world. Edison the Firefly is also always around to give you helpful hints if the kids get stuck or answer a question wrong.

The Leapfrog Leapster is small and very transportable. It can easily fit in a purse, tote, or backpack. They are extremely useful, Frogger Game, on flights or long car rides to keep children occupied and learning. It is ideal for entertainment on the go.

The Leapfrog Leapster is great, however there are some cons to this game system. The first drawback is that it runs on batteries. It uses 4 AA batteries, so be sure to bring extras on a long trip. There is a rechargeable battery pack that I would recommend if your kids play a lot (which most will), and it’s sold separately. Your kids will also be begging for more games. They will be able to choose from all the hottest names in children’s entertainment: Dora the, Frogger Game, Exporer, Sponge Bob Squarepants, Nemo, Cinderella, Batman and even The Little Mermaid. These games can range from $20 to $50.

The Leapfrog Leapster is an excellent Christmas gift, and is sure to be a hit. They are one of the hottest selling items this holiday season, so be sure to pick one up before they are sold out!

The Xbox 360 is Microsoft’s successor to their Xbox video game
console, aka “Xbox 2″. The console is scheduled to be released
on November 22, 2005 in North America (two days before the
American Thanksgiving and three days before Black Friday, one of
the biggest shopping days of the year in the United States),
December 2 in Europe, December 10 in Japan, and elsewhere in
early 2006. The Xbox 360 will compete against the upcoming
generation of consoles, including the Sony PlayStation 3 and
Nintendo Revolution.

In United States and Europe, the console will be offered in
two versions: an Xbox 360 Core System and Xbox 360 Premium
Edition.

The entry-level $299 core system includes the basics:
the game system, a wired controller (the system has built-in
wireless, Frogger Game, support for controllers) and standard video cables.

A $399 premium package includes the console, a detachable
20GB hard drive, wireless controller, headset and cables for
connecting to an HDTV and a home computer network. Sold
separately, the hard drive costs $100; wireless controller, $50;
and headset, $20.

But if you want to save games you will need a 64MB memory unit
($40) to save games, so Premium version will give you more bang
for buck.
